Virat Kohli has become the first Indian player and second overall to smash 40 international hundreds as captain. Kohli achieved the feat after reaching the three-figure mark off 173 deliveries against South Africa in the second test today. The hundred is also Kohli’s first in tests in 2019. The 30-year-old has now hit 26 Test hundreds and 69 international centuries.
Just now, he scored 150 runs in the second test and he sets a record for having most 150’s as a captain. He surpassed great Don Bradman who scored eight 150+ scores in his entire career as a captain. Kohli beheaded him in his 50th test match. He also achieved the feat of captaining for Team India in 50 test matches, the second most after Dhoni who captained 60 test matches.
Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal trolled himself while congratulating Team India captain Virat Kohli on captaining India in 50 Test matches. “Congrats bhaiya...only 50 more test matches than me,” Chahal tweeted. The 29-year-old spinner, who has represented India in 50 ODIs and 31 T20Is, is yet to play a test match for India. “The word “only” won my heart," a user tweeted.
