The Election Commission is up for the task for the general assembly elections in the third-largest state in our country along with Haryana. As usual, the flow of unaccounted money continues to get in all parts of the state.
The police and the Election Commission seized Rs 53.46 lakh during a raid at a flat in Ghodbunder. Sitting NCP MLA Ramesh Kadam got arrested after the raid and the seize. Sharing the details, Thane cops raided this place along with the Election Commission squad.
During the raid, MLA Ramesh Kadam was present in the flat along with the owner of the flat Raju Gyanu Khare. They found 53 lakh 46 thousand cash in the flat. The police and election team took immediate action and sealed the flat.
In another instance, the Election Commission (EC) has seized ₹78,70,000 unaccounted cash in poll-bound Maharashtra’s Colaba constituency on Friday. The EC also seized ₹2.19 crore on Thursday from five persons in the same constituency.
Notably, the EC and the police have seized over ₹1 crore cash a few days ago from two vehicles near Pachpaoli over-bridge and Nagpur railway station.
