Rs 21,000 Cr new loan to Andhra Pradesh has been approved by the Asian Infrastructure and Investment Bank. As the priorities of the AP government has changed now, this approved amount has to be used for developing ports, highways, airports, irrigation projects.
However, in the past eight months, there is no such proof of any such development by YSRCP government taking place in the AP. While the roads are being seen in very bad shape all over, even the Polavaram lifeline project got stopped. When the restart of this project is being considered, it is clearly seen that there isn’t anything being done by Jagan’s government rather than just blaming the Centre for not releasing funds. At least any sort of confirmation from CM whether the new loan will be used specifically for productive sectors is also not being given by them.
The key factor here is that even the Asian Bank officials have said that the state government can freely use the loan for its priority programs according to its requirement. Even in the past, the YSRCP government had brought nearly Rs 40,000 Cr loans. Question is, whether Jagan will at least use the latest loan to complete the Polavaram project?
