is in terrific form as he scored hits with Kaala, 2.0 and Petta
back to back. Now, the actor is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film, Darbar, directed by AR Murugadoss. The film, produced by Lyca Productions, will release on Pongal 2020.
Reports are rife that Darbar is being made on a mammoth budget of Rs 130 crore. What is shocking is the salary of Rajinikanth for the film. Rumors suggest that the Petta actor had gotten a huge sum of Rs 80 crore as the salary for his work in the film.
However, sources close to the team rubbished it as rumors. In fact, Rajinikanth took a pay cut to act in the film. Lyca Productions, who produced India's costliest film, 2.0
incurred huge losses. To compensate for the losses, Rajinikanth seems to have taken a pay cut for the same.
It is unclear which is the truth regarding Rajinikanth's salary. In Darbar, Rajinikanth essays the role of DGP Aaditya Arunasalam and will appear as a social activist as well.
