The first instalment of the two-part franchise will arrive on September 30. The film is based on the famous novel of the same name by famed Tamil writer Kalki. Jayam Ravi plays the titular character in the film, which tells the story of Arunmozhivaram, the chief ruler of the Chola Dynasty. Ponniyin Selvan is produced by Subhaskaran under the banner of Lyca Productions. The film's budget is Rs 500 crores. Mani Ratnam's production banner, Madras Talkies, has also produced the film. Aishwarya Rai, Prabhu, Sarath Kumar, Prakash Raj, Vikram Prabhu, etc. are lined up in the movie. From Malayalam, Jayaram, Aishwarya Lakshmi, Lal, and others are also playing the lead roles.
