Tollywood celebrates legendary director, producer, and screenwriter Mr. Raghavendra Rao’s birthday today! Fans have been trending the #HBDRagavendraRao on Twitter. Raghavendra Rao’s career that spans over 5 decades has seen everything from commercial blockbusters to social films that tackled crucial issues of the day. He has made people cry, laugh, scared, and much more through his films! There seems to be nothing that the veteran director has not done. From films like Janaki Ramudu to Major Chandrakanth to Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari to Annamayya, he has done it all.
 
Raghavendra Rao has directed many big names in the industry. In fact he has played a huge role in their careers. He has worked with generations of Telugu actors. He has directed the stars of Telugu cinema like NTR, Chiranjeevi, Akkineni Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, and many more. He has also directed the new wave of Telugu actors like Mahesh Babu, Allu Arjun, and many more. The veteran director has received several awards ranging from 2 National Awards to 8 State Nandi Awards.

He also introduced a name that is now world-famous. He introduced the director of Baahubali fame SS Rajamouli to the world with the daily soap Santhinivasam. Raghavendra Rao produced the Santhinivasam.
 
The latest buzz is that producer Ashwini Dutt is planning to bankroll the sequel to the film Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari, one of Raghavendra Rao’s most popular films. Actors Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor might star in the film. An official announcement is yet to arrive.
