Mammootty's upcoming film The Priest, which was slated to release on March 4, has been postponed.

Mammootty's The Priest release postponed

Malayalam superstar Mammootty was eagerly waiting for the release of his upcoming filmm The Priest. The film, which has been waiting for the release for over a year, has now been postponed yet again. Once the theatres in Kerala reopened, slowly producers came forward to announce the film's release dates. It was announced that The Priest will hit the theatres on March 4. However, the film has now been postponed as the team could not get permission from the Kerala government to hold night shows in the state.

In a statement, the makers of The Priest said, "Owing to the fact that theatres in other countries remain closed and the lack of approval for four shows in Kerala, we are compelled to postpone the release of The Priest." The film is directed by debutant Jofin T Chacko and features Manju Warrier, Nikhila Vimal and Saniya Iyyappan among others. Since The Priest has been postponed, many other films which are lined up for release could be postponed. The Kerala theatre market is expected when films release in theatres on Eid.
