Keeravani was born on July 4th, 1961. He is the son of a popular writer, Shiva Shakti Dutta. Star director SS Rajamouli is the cousin of Keeravani. The ace composer made his debut with the 1990 film Manasu Mamatha. He got his big break with the 1991 film Seetha Ramayya Gari Manavaralu. Throughout the 1990s, Keeravani composed music for various hit albums like Kshana Kshanam, Sundara Kaanda, Aapathbhandavudu, Matrudevobhava, Allari Priyudu, and Major Chandrakanth. Within no time, he emerged as a top composer in the film industry. Keeravani is best known for his background scores. He uses lyrics and verses as background music in his films. This is a unique feature that Keeravani has mastered. A few directors like Rajamouli work only with Keeravani and don't go for any other music director.
In his career, Keeravani won a National Award, 8 Filmfare Awards, 11 Nandi Awards, and one Tamil Nadu State Award. He won the National Award for the 1997 movie Annamayya.
