Siddharth Suryanarayan, a popular Indian actor and screenwriter known by his first name, claimed that his parents were harassed for 20 minutes at the Madurai airport. As soon as the actor revealed his situation in an Instagram story, several rumors and guesses regarding the occurrence began to circulate online. On December 29, Siddharth posted a lengthy note. He clarified everything once and for all, detailing what "exactly" occurred at the Madurai airport.
The actor from Rang De Basanti described the alleged harassment in a Facebook post. He claimed in his letter that since posting about the incident on social media, he has received multiple responses from people. They shared their own experiences. Siddharth described the alleged harassment in detail. He said that security staff marked his 70-year-old mother's purse and yelled at his sister "for carrying medical injections."
“The CISF individual who sat behind glass kept scrutinizing our IDs repeatedly including the children's passports. He then looked at my face and Adhaar card and shouted "yeh tum ho?" When I told him it was me and asked him why he asked me that question when my ID looks exactly like I do, he said he had doubts. Then the next individual shouted at us asking 'Hindi samajhte hain na?' And before we answered, rudely went on to throw out any iPad or phones that he found. After my bag cleared, he then took out my earphones and threw them on the tray,” the post read.
“The other day at Madurai Airport… This is all I have to say about that”, he captioned his post. A red heart emoticon and the words "Moving on" served as his final words. Many people expressed their support for the actor in the comments. Some of them revealed that they had gone through a similar situation.
