Vijay's Master movie collects Rs 150 crore worldwide

Thalapathy Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi starrer Master released in theatres on January 13. The film, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, waited for nearly 10 months to hit the theatres. Master released in selected theatres across the globe due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. In just six days, Master has collected over Rs 150 crore at the worldwide box office. This is a huge achievement for Master as it released in less number of screens with 50 per cent theatre occupancy due to the restrictions because of the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Trade analyst LM Kaushik wrote, "BO King #ThalapathyVijay's #Master smashes past 150 CR WW gross today on just its 6th day Ulaga Tharam, #Thalapathy @actorvijay #Master150CRin6days #MasterTheGlobalTopper #MasterGloballyNo1 (sic)." While Master released in over 550 screens in Tamil Nadu, nearly 880 screens across South India had Master playing in them. After seeing Master's success story, more directors, producers and distributors are coming forward to release their films in theatres. Master has served as an example for the Tamil film industry. It is safe to say that Master has indeed revived the theatre culture in Tamil film industry.
