Bhojpuri actress Rani Chatterjee described the incident in which filmmaker Sajid Khan questioned her inappropriately in an interview with Aaj Tak. He told her that she would be wearing a short lehenga for the song and requested her to expose her legs while he explained the track to her. Rani explained during the interview that despite thinking the request was odd, she thought it to be a part of the audition process. According to reports, Sajid's query on Rani's breast size made the question-and-answer session awkward. Additionally, he questioned her about her sexual behaviour and relationship status. The actress was upset and enraged by his inquiries, and she also claimed that the director tried to touch her improperly. Rani admitted that she left the meeting right away because she felt it was time for her to be transparent about her struggles. Many struggling, aspiring actors, as well as starlets, accused the director of misconduct and bad behaviour during the MeToo movement. In 2019, the charges resulted in his suspension. Many of them sought his removal from Bigg Boss 16 after he was there, but his participation in the competition has continued.
