Bollywood is waiting for a big box office hit after Pathaan. The Hindi film industry now has an obligation to prove that Pathaan is not a one-time wonder. There is no change in the expectations given by Bollywood with every superstar film, but the fact remains that nothing much happens at the box office. Salman Khan's Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan was the last time the Hindi film industry had high hopes. Compared to Salman's previous Eid releases, the collection is not too bad. Now the film's Monday box office numbers are out.
While the film suffered a weak performance at premium multiplexes on Monday, it has gained in Salman Khan's stronghold of single screens. The film collected 10.17 crore at the Indian box office on Monday. This is the best Monday collection for a film that collected 68.17 crore in its opening weekend.
The film collected 15.81 crore at the Indian box office on its release day, Friday. 25.75 crores on Saturday and 26.61 crores on Sunday. The film has even collected more than Friday in some rare centres.
At the same time, the film earned 100 crores in the first three days at the global box office. The film collected 112.80 crores on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. This is the figure released by the producers themselves.
Bollywood is hoping that the film perform well in the coming week. However after SRK's Pathaan, Salman Khan has also proved that he is capable of lifting Bollywood from ruins.
