Ever since Waltair Veerayya was announced, it has been carrying good expectations on it. The film was released for Sankranthi this year, making it the first Sankranthi release for Chiru after Khaidi No. 150. Waltair Veerayya received a good response upon release and has now entered the top 5 list. The film received huge collections on the 4th day itself, putting it on the top 5 list.
Chiru was showcased in all of his vintage glory by director Bobb, which is the major highlight of the film. Shruti Haasan is the leading lady of this film, in which Ravi Teja has played an important part.
The scenes between Ravi and Chiru are the major highlights of the film, with the two actors dominating the screen together. Devi Sri Prasad's songs and background music have been received well by the audience.
Waltair Veerayya marks Chiru's first major success after a long time. Acharya and Godfather didn't appeal to the audience much. Acharya turned out to be a huge disaster, while Godfather was ignored as it was a remake.
