5 Bollywood films that will directly release on OTT this May

The ongoing weeks have been hard for the people of India due to the onset of the second wave of coronavirus. Keeping the utmost safety of people in mind, the entertainment industry is opting for OTT platforms and skipping theatrical releases; a decision best for both.

Even though films like Roohi, Saina, and Indoo Ki Jawaani tried their luck in theatres, the lack of audience engagement ultimately led these films to drop on OTT within no time. This has further prompted the upcoming Hindi movies to sell their rights to platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ Hotstar, ZeePlex, etc to directly release their films for the target audience. So, here's the list of the upcoming Hindi films which will be arriving on OTT this May, listed in the chronological order of their release dates:

Time to Dance

Time to Dance, starring Isabelle Kaif and Sooraj Pancholi in the lead roles, is an upcoming dance-romantic film. As the name suggests, the film will feature lots of dance sequences, along with a sweet love story. Time to Dance will mark as the debut film of Isabelle Kaif, who's the sister of actress Katrina Kaif. There are high chances that Katrina and Salman might have done a cameo in this film. The film will also mark the directorial debut of director Stanley Menino D'Costa.
Time to Dance will be streaming on Netflix from 7th of May.

The story of a man named Ghalib who sets out to fulfill his dream of making a 5,00,000 kms driving record on the road, Milestone brings a unique storyline to the table. It is an inspiring film as the man, played by the Punjabi actor Suvinder Vicky, will overcome all obstacles to pursue his dream. The film has been directed by Ivan Ayr. Milestone will be streaming on Netflix from the 7th of May.

Hum Bhi Akele Tum Bhi Akele

Hum Bhi Akele Tum Bhi Akele has already had its release in theatres in February last year, but now, the makers are giving it an OTT release. The film is all about adventure, friendship, and discovering yourself. Two youngsters named Veer and Mansi set out on a road trip from Delhi to Mcleodganj, and meanwhile discover their love and sexuality. Hum Bhi Akele Tum Bhi Akele stars Anshuman Jha and Zareen Kha in the lead roles. Hum Bhi Akele Tum Bhi Akele will be streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 9th May.

Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai

This is the most anticipated film of the year, courtesy of all the Bhaijaan fans. Radhe was, for a long time, expected to postpone its release date, but the makers were adamant about delivering a promising entertainer this year. However, the film will not solely release on OTT but also simultaneously release in theatres. Starring Salman Khan, Disha Patani, Jacky Shroff, and Randeep Hooda, Radhe promises a full-on action-packed drama film for the audience. Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai will simultaneously release in theatres and on Zee PLEX on May 13th.

Sardar Ka Grandson

With an impressive star cast including Arjun Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh, Neena Gupta, John Abraham, Divya Khosla, and Aditi Rao Hydari, Sardar Ka Grandson is coming soon on OTT. The story revolves around the quest of a grandson to fulfill the last wish of his grandmother. Will he or won't he succeed in his mission, only the film is going to tell. Sardar Ka Grandon will be streaming on Netflix from 18th May.
