Aashiqui fame Anu Aggarwal reveals yoga helped her recover from a life threatening incident

Actress Anu Aggarwal is best known for her role in the iconic romantic film Aashiqui. Anu Aggarwal starred alongside Rahul Roy. The film became an instant hit and Anu became an overnight sensation. Anu faded away from the limelight when she went into a coma after a car crash in 1999. Now in a recent interview Anu has revealed that doctors also gave up on saving her life after the accident. Anu also said that yoga helped her recover and get back to a normal life.

In an interview with Pinkvilla Anu said, "The accident happened in 1999 and with that, doctors said, ‘She won’t live. She will survive for hardly 3 years.’ But I was certain I could heal. Then everything I had learned, I applied on myself and healed myself. Then, I started yoga therapy for slum kids, and then I was later recognised by other organisations where I gave talks."

In another interview with Hindustan Times Anu said that she had no memory of the car crash after she woke up from her comatose state. She said, "I didn’t know the meaning of words and languages when I woke up... I didn’t know English; though it came to me faster than Hindi did. I had lost everything. It was like landing up on another planet altogether. I had no knowledge of history, geography or culture. I remembered nothing; there was complete loss of memory."

The actress later wrote and published a book titled Anusual: Memoir of a Girl Who Came Back from the Dead.
