The Marvel Cinematic Universe is now a decade old. Many of its stars are just as iconic as the roles and superheroes that they portray. Whether it be Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man or Chris Hemsworth as the God of Thunder, Thor, fans have loved these actors. However, heads at Marvel weren't too sure of casting Chris Hemsworth as Thor originally. In an interview with BBC One Chris Hemsworth revealed that a viral dancing video almost lost him his role as Thor.
Hemsworth revealed saying, "Kevin Feige (Marvel Studios president and producer) said that almost lost me the job. We all saw your audition. We’re passing it around the office, and everyone was really, you know, into it. And then, a few of the girls started googling your name and up came this dancing video, and I thought, ‘Oh no. Thor dancing! The fans are going to eat us alive."
Chris Hemsworth later appeared in the first Thor film in 2011. Hemsworth also said that the viral video made him more nimble on his feet while portraying Thor. He said, "It made me more nimble on my feet. I needed to be with the cape. You might see a bit of that Dancing With The Stars quality in Thor."
Chris Hemsworth recently signed a new contract with Marvel for future Thor films. Hemsworth will next appear in Thor: Love and Thunder. Taika Waitit will be directing Chris Hemsworth for a second Thor film after the two collaborated for Thor: Ragnarok. Thor: Love and Thunder stars Christian Bale as the main villain.
