Actor Mammootty's mother, Fathima Ismail, passed away. She was 93 years old. She passed away this morning at a private hospital in Kochi due to an age-related illness. The cremation will take place this evening at Vaikom Chemb.
Mammootty himself has written earlier about his mother, saying that she is the best friend and the first friend in everyone's life. Ninety-three-year-old Fatima Ismail was undergoing treatment and rest due to an age-related illness. She has been with Mammootty at his house in Ilangulam, Kochi, for the past few days. Two days ago, the health condition worsened. With this, she was admitted to a private hospital in Kochi. It ended this morning. The burial will take place this evening at Chemb Muslim Jamaat Church near Vaikat in Kottayam district.
She has six children, including Mammootty. Other children are film and serial actor Ibrahim Kutty, film producer Zakaria, Amina, Souda, and Shafeena. Actors Dulquer Salmaan, Ashkar Soudan, Maqbool Salmaan, and others are grandchildren. Born in Chandirur near Eramallur in Alappuzha district, Fatima Ismail came to Vaikom Copper after her marriage. Mammootty's father, Ismail, died ten years ago in Panamparap.
