Actor Vivek Oberoi remembers helping Kareena Kapoor when she enrolled at Mumbai's Mithibai College, where he was also a student. Vivek claimed in a recent interview that Kareena, who was having issues with her attendance, was a few years older than him. Vivek added that he helped Kareena remember how he had assisted her.
Together, Vivek Oberoi and Kareena have appeared in numerous movies, including Mani Ratnam's Yuva (2004). Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, and Esha Deol are also featured in the movie. Vishal Bhardwaj's Omkara (2006), their second film together, was their second collaboration. Ajay, Saif Ali Khan, Konkona Sen Sharma, and Bipasha Basu are also included in the movie. Kurbaan was the pair's most recent movie (2009).
Speaking with a news organisation, Vivek recalled, "Mujhe yaad hai Kareena. Bebo (Kareena's nickname) nayi nayi aayi thi mere college mein. Main senior tha Bebo se ek do saal, do teen saal senior tha. Bebo aayi thi nayi nayi Mithibai College (I remember Kareena. Bebo was new to my college. I was senior to Bebo by three-four years)."
"Bebo ko problem horaha tha attendance ka (She was having a problem with her attendance). I made her remember this also, we did three or four movies together as well. I said (gestures at himself) 'Fikaar not, apun hai (Don't worry, I'm there)'. Leke gaya details aur andar se uska pura attendance clear karake leke aya (I took her details, went inside and cleared her overall attendance). She said, 'How did you do it?' I said, 'Khush reh, maze mein reh (Be happy, have fun)'."
Alongside Suniel Shetty, Vivek recently appeared in the political drama series Dharavi Bank. The programme received positive reviews from viewers after its debut on the OTT service MX Player. His forthcoming action-thriller television series Indian Police Force will be his next appearance.
The thriller The Devotion Of Suspect X, directed by Sujoy Ghosh, will feature Kareena as the lead. Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma are also featured. In addition to that, she also has the upcoming, untitled movie from director Hansal Mehta.
