Janhvi Kapoor who will next be seen in Gunjan Saxena's biopic recently spoke of her experience with her first film, Dhadak. Kapoor entered the Bollywood fraternity in 2018 with Shashank Khaitan's Dhadak. Dhadak starred Jahnvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khattar opposite each other.
Now in an interview with BBC Asian network, Kapoor said that she is not fond of her acting in Dhadak. She admitted to being overconfident on the sets of her first film and said that she lacked certain technical aspects of acting. Kapoor still believes that she did justice to the emotional journey of her character in Dhadak.
Jahnvi said, "I think I lacked confidence and my language was an issue. I think I was a little stiff in places. I think that one thing I had working for me is that I tried to bring a lot of honesty and sensitivity to it. I think the emotionality of it was in the right place."
“Maybe it was all heart but it lacked a lot of technical understanding and a lot of finesse. I lacked technical understanding and maybe my skill set wasn’t as polished. It’s weird saying this about myself but I think I felt honest onscreen,” the actress added.
Dhadak is a Bollywood remake of the highly celebrated Marathi Dalit film titled Sairat. Dhadak received flak for cutting down on the caste aspect of the film. Both Ishaan and Jahnvi received mixed reviews from critics and fans. Jahnvi's next film is Kargil Girl. Director Sharan Sharma is directing Kargil Girl.
