Mamta Mohandas, a well-known Malayalam actress who most recently starred alongside Prithviraj Sukumaran in the film Jana Gana Mana, has left for a retreat to spend some time alone. In a post on her most recent holiday, the actress surprised online users by disclosing that she has an autoimmune disease. Mamta posted vaguely about her health, but the hashtags autoimmune and vitiligo show that she has this disorder, which she has been diagnosed with.

 
Mamta Mohandas used Instagram to upload a picture of her holiday de-glam image along with a lengthy caption expressing her loss of colour and praying with the sun to give her strength and bravery to battle her autoimmune disease.

Following her post, well-wishers, business friends, and fans wished her luck on social media. She shared heart-shaped emoticons with actress Srindaa and her Forensic co-star Tovino Thomas. Reba Monica John, a coworker and fellow actor remarked, "You're a fighter and you're beautiful." In a previous post, which she published before publishing this one, Mamta also included a photo of herself lifting weights while discussing how, despite life's setbacks, she always comes out stronger. She wrote, “Dear Life .. I’ve become more and more aware of this as I’m getting older. Time n time again, You throw huge curveballs at me .. sometimes, the largest ones you can find, each one a little heavier than the previous one. You see, The muscles of my willpower might not be as strong as it once used to be.. but the power of hope is greater.. the imprints in my memory of peaks I have conquered in the past is greater. So , Wait until you see my throws!”
 
On the professional front, Mamta Mohandas is slated to next appear in the Sethu-directed movie Maheshum Maruthiyum. The movie stars Asif Ali in the lead role.
