Aditi Rao Hydari promotes fair skin; netizen asks Police to take action against her

A couple of days ago, Aditi Rao Hydari posted an advertisement of one of the products of Loreal. Aditi got featured in the ad commercial and she promoted it by posting on her profile. Sharing the video, Aditi Rao Hydari wrote, "The 1st ever micro-essence from L’Oréal Paris is here!! It is the latest technology for skin - which goes 10-layers deep, to give brighter, clearer skin, like a crystal. #ItsCrystalClear that I am in #LorealCrystal #CrystalMicroEssence Gemstone @Loreal." Now, this has put her in trouble as a netizen raised a concern with police that she is promoting fair skin which is illegal in India.

A lot of netizens found fault with this endorsement. Very recently, the government of India proposed a jail sentence of five years and a fine of 50 lakhs for those who promote fair skin. The ministry of health and family welfare has finalized a bill that involves the number of diseases and disorders covered under a special act. With this, no one can promote fair skin in India and if found and proven guilty, the court takes severe action on this. No one debated on this since it is fora good cause and to fill confidence in all those who don't enjoy a fair skin. But still, a lot of celebrities still endorse these products. Sharing the same information in the comments section, a person tagged Hyderabad City Police, and wrote, "promoting beauty products in India is legal? The police officials then tagged the Cyber Crimes department to look into it. We are waiting for further details in this case.
