The trailer, which lasts 1 minute and 34 seconds, shows that the film is set in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, rather than Telangana. The main character is smart-mouthed KD, who is a touch too laid-back for an officer on the Homicide Investigation Team. While the preview shows the character's attributes, it concludes on a somber note with the officer investigating the dismemberment of a little child.
If the preview is any indication, the filmmaker appears to have pushed the boundaries of gore this time around. In the precursor HIT, set in Telangana, Vikram Rudraraju, played by Vishwak Sen, investigated the disappearance of a little girl. The film was widely liked in Telugu and was later recreated in Hindi starring Rajkumar Rao. Sailesh recently stated that he has written stories about other imaginary officers in other parts of the country as well. The film is set to be released on December 2, and it remains to be seen if it will perform as well as the previous HIT: The First Case.
