Adivi Sesh's Major release postponed due to lockdown

Adivi Sesh's upcoming film Major, directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka, was slated to hit the theatres on July 2. However, theatres across the country are shut due to the raging second wave of the pandemic. In these unprecedented times, the makers of Majoor announced that the film's release has been postponed. They also added that a new release date will be finalised and announced once the situation is normal. Sharing the news, Adivi Sesh wrote on Twitter, "#ReleaseDay of #MajorTheFilm will be my PROUDEST moment. So Let's celebrate when times get better. Safer. Maamulga undadhu. I Promise #JaiHind (sic)."

 
The statement from the makers of Major read, "We are living in unprecedented times and we hope you are following all the safety protocols and staying safe. Our film Major, which was originally scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on 2nd July, is now postponed to a later date. We will announce the new release date once things are back to normal. Times are tough but so are we." Major is a biopic based on the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who lost his life in 16/11 terrorist attack in Mumbai. The film also stars Saiee Manjrekar, Sobhita Dhulipala and Prakash Raj.
