Director Kannan has secure the Tamil and Telugu remake rights of the Malayalam super hit film The Great Indian Kitchen. The Malayalam film, which starred Nimisha Sajayan and Suraj Venjaramood, was hailed for its noble intention and exceptional storytelling. Now, Kannan is all set to start his work on the Tamil version of The Great Indian Kitchen. It has now been confirmed that Aiswarya Rajesh has been roped in to play the female lead in the remake. Aishwarya Rajesh will step into the shoes of Nimisha Sajayan in the remake.
The director felt that Aishwarya commands a loyal fan following across Tamil film and has shouldered films such as Kanaa, which had a massive reach. He also felt that Aishwarya will be perfect for the role of a young, newly married woman. Kannan had asked Aishwarya to watch the film and she was mighty impressed by it. though she is yet to sign on the dotted lines, Aishwarya expressed her willingness to do the film. She will sign on the feal when she returns to Chennai. The Telugu remake of the film will have a different cast and crew.
