Abdul Gaffar Nadiadwala, the father of Firoz Nadiadwala and the producer of Hera Pheri, passed away today at the age of 91. According to ETimes, he passed away today morning about 3 a.m. in Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital. His death was caused by a number of medical conditions, including diabetes and asthma. Abdul will be cremated in the Irla Masjid after his funeral procession departs from Barkat, his home at the JVPD Scheme, at around 4 p.m. today.
On his social media accounts, Ajay Devgn expressed his sorrow for Abdul Gaffar Nadiadwala's passing. The Singham actor posted his photos and expressed his condolences for Shri Gaffarbhai Nadiadwala's demise. He wrote; "Deepest condolences on the passing of Shri Gaffarbhai Nadiadwala. My father & he were associates during the golden era of our cinema. Shanti AG Nadiadwala saab. My condolences to the Nadiadwala family". Film producer A G Nadiadwala got his start in the industry in 1953. The 1984 film Jhutha Sach, starring Dharmendra and Rekha, was his debut effort as a producer.
Abdul Gaffar Nadiadwala has produced over 50 Hindi films in his nearly 69-year career. Awara Paagal Deewana (2002), Hera Pheri (2000), and Welcome (2007), among others, are some of the successful movies he produced. The producer later achieved legendary status in India and was regarded as one of the best comedies in Indian film.
Shankar Shambhu, Lahoo Ke Do Rang, Aa Gale Lag Jaa, Watan Ke Rakhwale, Sone Pe Suhaaga, Jhutha Sach, and other movies were made by Abdul Gaffar Nadiadwala. He is renowned for producing Mahabharat (1965), which included Pradeep Kumar and Dara Singh in key parts.
