Tollywood In 6 months: Bad phase for the film industry in the recent times

Tollywood film industry completes 6 months already in 2020. In the first half, we did not witness too many releases but we can easily say that it is one of the worst phases for the industry in recent times. As per the buzz, except for Mahesh Babu and Allu Arjun, no one else could make a mark in the first six months, where we had released only for two and a half months.
During Sankranthi, Sarileru Neekevvaru and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo became hits. Later, Disco Raja, Entha Manchivadavura, Jaanu, World Famous Lover failed at the box-office. The big hit before the lockdown is Nithiin's Bheeshma. All the other films, including the dubbing ones, failed at the box-office. Palasa is one film that turned out as a critically acclaimed movie. Small films Three Monkeys, Pressure Cooker, and O Pitta Katha hardly made any impression.
On the other side, OTT platforms came forward to release some movies. Amrutharamam is the first OTT release in Telugu and it failed miserably to impress the audiences. 47 Days that released recently failed too. Penguin also failed to impress. Only Krishna and His Leela became a hit and it managed to grab the attention of the audiences. A bunch of movies is now lined up for releases on OTT and we have to see if they can make an impression.
Also, the second half of the year will be the same. It will be worse than the first half with the theatres continuing to be locked up. Let us hope that Corona Crisis comes down.
