As the shootings of films have begun post lockdown, Akshay Kumar starts filming for Raksha Bandhan. The Anand L Rai film that co-stars Bhumi Pednekar will be released next year. Along with the announcement of the shoot's beginning, Akshay calls the film a celebration of friendship and bond and dedicates it to his sister Alka. "Growing up my sister, Alka was my first friend. It was the most effortless friendship," wrote the 53-year-old actor. "@aanandlrai's #RakshaBandhan is a dedication to her and a celebration of that special bond (heart emoji). Day one of the shoot today, need your love and best wishes." In the picture, Akshay can be seen donning a yellow bright kurta and a tilak on his forehead.
A week back Bhumi Pednekar had joined hands with the team of Raksha Bandhan. Announcing the same and welcoming Bhumi on board, Kumar had written, "When you are happy, it shows. And indeed we are to have Bhumi Pednekar on board." This film will mark the third collaboration of Akshay with Bhumi after Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and Durgamati which was produced by Akshay Kumar.
