Akshay Kumar’s Bachchan Panday is NOT a remake of Veeram

Rumours doing the rounds said that Akshay Kumar’s film Bachchan Panday is a remake of Tamil film Veeram. These rumours stand corrected now.

Directed by Farhad Samji, the film also stars Kriti Sanon. A source told Pinkvilla that the film’s script underwent many changes and no longer qualifies as a remake. It is an original venture.

The source said. “, this supposed to be the same film as Land Of Lungi, which they announced. That was an adaptation of Veeram. But now, the team recently met up and there have been several discussions and changes made to the script. The new script is a completely original idea and has nothing like Veeram or as a matter of fact, even Land of Lungi.”

The source further went on to say, “The idea is to make him look like he’s looked never before. When the script got changed, they decided to make a few alterations to Akshay’s look as the character Bachchan Pandey too.” This is why Akshay’s look in the poster looks nothing like that from Veeram.

Bachchan Panday was set to hit theatres on Christmas 2020. But the release date got shifted to Republic Day 2021 now. Meanwhile, Akshay also has Laxmmi Bomb, Bell Bottom, Prithviraj, and Sooryavanshi in his lineup.
