Alia Bhatt Shares An Advice For Young Women And Admits Her Fixation With Weight And Body Had A Toll On Her

Alia Bhatt has advanced significantly in her acting career. In 2012, she made her Bollywood debut in the movie Student Of The Year, directed by Karan Johar. Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra also acted in the movie. Alia was only 19 years old when the movie came out. She had previously discussed losing weight before entering Bollywood in interviews. Now, Alia admitted in a recent interview with Marie Claire that since she began the film profession so young, her concern with her body and weight had a toll on her.

When she first entered the film industry at the age of 17, Alia told Marie Claire that she overheard debates about how one should look. “You think that’s the way it’s supposed to be. And it took a bit of a toll on me in terms of my obsession with my body and my weight”. She went on to say that being nicer to her body required a lot of effort, but that she is now in the best condition she has ever been and has never been more at ease and content with herself.

When asked what advice she would like to give young women, Alia Bhatt responded that they should put more emphasis on their interior wellness and stop worrying so much about how they appear on the outside. “It’s not about every little splodge of skin on your body. You can’t be squishing it and thinking, This is an issue. That is an issue,” she said. There have been times when Alia has struggled with it as well, she continued. “I’m saying, if you pick on yourself first, then you’re inviting every other [person’s] negative thoughts towards your body,” she said.

She gave them the advice to love and respect themselves so that nothing other people say can disturb them. “Stay active, eat good foods. Eat crap as well, if you want. Because if that’s something that you want to do on a particular day, please go ahead and do it. You have one life, so just enjoy it as much as possible,” said Alia.
