Dashing director Puri Jagannath is best known for his mass masala commercial entertainers. But he has also made a few soulful romantic dramas in his career. One of them is the 2013 musical entertainer Iddarammayilatho. Starring Allu Arjun, Amala Paul and Catherine Tresa in the lead roles, this film became a musical hit at the box office. The film celebrates its 7th release anniversary today. On this occasion, let us revisit the film.
Iddarammayilatho starts off with Aakansha moving to Europe. There she finds a diary and happens to read the love story of Sanju and Komali. But the diary mentions only half of their story. In the quest of knowing the remaining part, Aakansha meets Sanju. But things take a turn when Aakansha herself falls in love with Sanju. The performances of Allu Arjun and Amala Paul remains the major highlight of the film. Puri also shot it in a very stylish way. Especially, fans of Allu Arjun still rejoice the interval fight of the film.
One thing which lifts the mood of this film is the music. Composed by Devi Sri Prasad, the songs and background score of this film are the major assets of it. The whole album was a super hit. Songs like Run Run, Violin song, and Top Lechipoddi still remain in many of our playlists. Allu Arjun's dance in Top Lechipoddi is one of the best dance performances in his career. Iddarammayilatho ran for 50 days and became a hit at the box office.
