After scoring a decent hit with Venky Mama recently, Victory Venkatesh is now coming back with a hard-hitting film called Narappa. Directed by Srikanth Addala, Narappa is an official remake of Tamil blockbuster Asuran which featured Dhanush and Manju Warrier in the lead roles. Priyamani is reprising the role of Manju in the Telugu version. The shoot of this film has begun in Ananthapur district a couple of weeks ago.
According to the latest grapevine, there is another actress in the film. Heroine Amala Paul, who is best known for films like Nayak and Iddaramayilatho, will be playing a key role in Narappa. She will be coming in the flashback portions of the film. She is playing the role essayed by Ammu Abhirami in the original.
Amala Paul's last Telugu film was Jenda Pai Kapiraju. Even though she made her appearance here with a few dubbed films, technically this film makes her comeback in Tollywood after five years. Amala will be joining the sets of Narappa very soon.
Narappa is being produced jointly by D. Suresh Babu and Kalaipuli S. Thanu. Mani Sharma is composing the music for this film. Narappa will be releasing towards the end of this year.
