American Music Awards 2019: Taylor Swift breaks record high wins previously held by Micheal Jackson

Amidst the controversy surrounding Taylor Swift's dispute with Scott Borchetta and Scooter Braun, Taylor Swift took home five awards at AMA 2019. There was much debacle surrounding Taylor and whether she will perform any of her older hits.

Taylor, in fact, did perform multiple songs from previous albums including Love Story, Shake it Off and Blank Space. Swift didn't directly address Borchetta or Braun but emphasized on the importance of creating art.

Taylor became an even bigger sensation after she won five different awards at AMA this year. She also won the artist of the year award. Post-Sunday Taylor now has 28 AMA awards under her belt. Following Sunday's award ceremony Taylor is now the only star to have so many AMA awards after she broke Micheal Jackson's record of 24 awards.

Other winners included BTS and DJ Khalid who won 3 awards each. Billie Eilish also took home an award but Ariana Grande left empty handed this year. Post Malone who had the highest number of nominations also only won a single award.
