Amitabh Bachchan, along with other celebrities, are actively contributing towards the relief of the coronavirus crisis in India. After being subjected to some hateful comments by people calling Big B out for not donating enough, the actor wrote a blog calling it 'embarrassing' to list down all his charitable workings. Nonetheless, Amitabh decided to do it for the satisfaction of his fans and also contributed Rs. 2 crores to the Rakab Ganj gurudwara in Delhi which is helping the covid affected patients.
In his blog post this morning, Amitabh wrote, "Yes I do charity, but have ever believed it to be done, than spoken of.. it is embarrassing, in too great a self-consciousness.. of one that has ever felt shy of public presence despite the profession - one that has to find its usp in public domains is relevant today for me."
He further added, "The pressure though .. the everyday abuse and the filth of distasteful comment has never been of attention to me or to the family .. we have seen it from time immemorial .. happens .. some are ridden with the wisdom that it shall happen .. so all the efforts continued in the quiet .. no divulge to the information agencies .. no talk of it either .. only the receiver knew and that was the end ." Before Amitabh, action-director Rohit Shetty had extended his help to the same gurudwara in Delhi which has been converted into a 250-bed covid center.
