Amitabh Bachchan to be conferred with Dadasaheb Phalke Award, India’s highest award in cinema

Minister Prakash Javadekar announced that Amitabh Bachchan selected for the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. “The entire country and international community are happy,” Javadekar tweeted.
 
Dadasaheb Phalke Award is the highest and most acclaimed award in Indian cinema conferred upon a veteran luminary to appreciate his or her lifetime cinematic achievement.
 
After the announcement that Amitabh Bachchan will receive the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. It is India’s highest award in cinema, Bachchan took to Twitter. He wrote, “There is a paucity of words searching a response.” “I am but grateful and most humbled...my sincerest gratitude,” he added. The award includes a Swarna Kamal and a cash prize of ₹10 lakh.
 
 
Union Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday congratulated actor Amitabh Bachchan on selection. “He is one of the actors...who has ruled the hearts of cine lovers for long. In the five decades, he showcased his art of acting and talent in many films,” Singh added.
