Ram Gopal Varma has now become a synonym for controversy. The popular director never sleeps tight without indulging any controversy. The latest mess he is dealing with is about his next movie Murder. This film is heavily inspired by Pranay and Amrutha's case. Ever since the film got announced, the families of Pranay and Amrutha were against it. Now, they are taking all the necessary steps to stall the release of this movie.
Varma said that the film is completely based on a few real events but will not defame anyone. But with the teasers and posters, it is pretty evident that the movie is about the case. Already, Pranay's father Balreddy and Amrutha filed a case against the release of the movie. The court has asked the makers to attend a hearing on August 6. On the flip side, the team is also planning to file a counter-case to get permission for the release. They are adamant on releasing it by this month-end or early next month. For those who are unaware, the case of Amrutha and Pranay shook the entire nation a couple of years back. They got married against their parents' will. This made Amrutha's father Maruthi Rao furious and he eventually killed Pranay. This honor-killing case brought the deadly caste-issues once again into the limelight.
Murder features Srikant Iyengar, Sahithi, and Gayatri in the lead roles. It is being produced by Natti Karuna and Natti Kranthi.
