Angelina Jolie Describes Brad Pitt's Action Against The Vineyard As Malicious In New Court Documents

The protracted conflict between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie about whether she has the right to sell her half of a French winery and estate that they jointly owned appears to be devolving into a further mess. According to recent court records, the actress' legal team has reacted to Pitt's team's claim that Angelina was deliberately attempting to "inflict harm" by selling her shares.

According to Angelina's most recent paperwork, Brad's case is "frivolous, malicious, and part of a troublesome pattern," as Just Jared and Radar Online have reported. "Pitt‘s allegations that he and Ms. Jolie had a secret, unwritten, unspoken contract to a consent right on the sale of their interests in the property is directly contrary to the written record and, among other legal defects, violative of the Statute of Frauds and public policy", the report states further.

For the unreversed, the actor from Bullet Train filed a lawsuit against his ex-wife over a contract she made to sell her stake in Chateau Miraval, a vineyard and estate they bought in 2008 and later tied the knot at. Brad asserted that he should have the right to approve any deal. In the past, court records have revealed that Angelina sought the sale of her shares in the Miraval estate, claiming she did so to achieve "financial independence" from Pitt after the tragic 2016 plane incident.

It has been asserted by Brad Pitt's team that the former pair promised not to sell their Miraval shares without one another's consent after Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from him in 2016. At the time of their divorce from Pitt, the actress insisted that she made the decision for the wellbeing of her family.
