Anil Sunkara, The Film Agent's Producer, Apologizes For The Film's Failure: We Have To Take The Entire Blame For #Agent

Agent, the newest movie by Akhil Akkineni, did poorly at the box office. The Surender Reddy-directed movie also had Urvashi Rautela in a special song cameo along with Mammootty, Dino Morea, and Sakshi Vaidya. The lengthy delayed Telugu movie only brought in Rs. 7 crore on opening day. Anil Sunkara, one of the movie's producers, accepted responsibility for the reviewers' and audience's disapproval of the movie. He acknowledged that starting the movie without a bound script was a mistake. The movie also experienced many delays from COVID-19.

Producer Anil tweeted,

We have to take the entire blame for #Agent. Though we know its an uphill task, we thought of conquering but failed to do so as we did a blunder starting the project without a bound script & innumerable issues including covid followed. We don't want to give any excuses but learn…

His honesty was appreciated by the audience, and they thanked him for speaking out. One fan remarked, "Hatsoff sir. These days hardly any producer accepts failures in public. I wish u learn from mistakes and all the best sir for upcoming projects. I believe u will come back stronger with commercial blockbusters very soon." Taran Adarsh, a trade analyst, stated, "Very rarely have I seen producers/directors/actors accepting failure gracefully... Requires courage to publicly acknowledge failure of your just-released film [#Agent], #AnilSunkara ji... That too within a week of its release... We all learn from our mistakes and am sure, you will bounce back stronger with your next film. #Respect @AnilSunkara1."
