After the success of Bigil at the box office, actor Vijay had excited about his upcoming film tentatively titled Thalapathy 64. The actor teamed up with filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj for this film and says to revolve around the life of gangsters.
Earlier, the team had announced that Malayalam actor Antony Varghese has got in to play the role of an antagonist in Thalapathy 64. According to the latest reports, Antony Varghese got replaced by Tamil actor Arjun Das, who met with great praise for his role in Lokesh's Kaithi.

Confirming the same, Arjun Das, in an interview with Times of India revealed that he will shoot for Thalapathy 64 from the second week of December. The actor said, "It is a dream-come-true moment to work with Vijay sir so early in my career. I will be forever grateful to Lokesh for casting me in the film. I am having mixed emotions; the feeling will sink in only when I begin shooting for the film."
He further added that the offer came as a total surprise and stated, "I got a call from Lokesh one day. He simply said, 'Vaa machi’. When Lokesh calls you, you don’t ask any questions. I am on board."
The actor also said that he will not sign any more films until he completes Thalapathy 64. His films, Kumki 2 and Andhagaaram are ready for release.
