Actress Anushka Sharma has nothing but respect for rapper Doja Cat, who answered each question on the Met Gala red carpet in 2023 with a 'meow'. Doja honored Karl Lagerfeld by sporting a look inspired by his favorite look, Choupette. She arrived at the occasion wearing a white gown with a cat-ear hood. She also had cat prosthetics on her face.
Anushka reposted a Vogue video on her Instagram Stories on Wednesday. The interviewer grilled the rapper throughout the video. Doja, however, decided to reply with cat noises. Anushka posted the video to her Instagram account and captioned it, "I propose for this to become an acceptable way of communication on the red carpets (victory hand emoji)."
In an earlier video published on Nick Jonas' TikTok account, actress Priyanka Chopra lip-synced to Doja's voice. Nick took the video inside their car as they were driving to the Met Gala after-party. Priyanka mimicked Doja in the video.
Doja posted numerous images of herself wearing the cat costume to her Instagram on Tuesday. As she faced the camera, she displayed a variety of expressions and poses. Doja didn't add a caption to the post. In response to the images, someone wrote: "Purrrfection."
Jared Leto also paid respect to Choupette, Karl's adored fluffy cat, in addition to Doja. Pat McGrath and Dior Men coated Lil Nas X in crystals and went full cat.
The topic for this year was Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty, which was inspired by the recently opened Costume Institute exhibition showcasing the legendary designer's creations. Karl spent decades designing clothing for Balmain, Patou, Chloe, Fendi, and Chanel in addition to his own name-brand line. He passed away in 2019 at the age of 85.
Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, Penelope Cruz, Karlie Kloss, Gigi Hadid, Rihanna, and Jennie from Blackpink were just a few of the stars who attended the event dressed to the nines. The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York hosted the Met Gala 2023 on May 1.
