Actress Anushka Sharma has said her name has been wrongfully used to say how she got preferential treatment or how she has overstayed her authorized time with her husband Virat Kohli on Team India's foreign tours. "My silence has made the lies spitted against me seem true but that ends today," this Bolly beauty said.
It all started with the former India cricketer Engineer commenting about the selector serving Anushka tea during the mega event in England in a recent interview with the Times of India. He also termed the selection panel led by MSK Prasad as ‘Mickey Mouse selection committee’ but him taking Anushka’s name hasn’t gone down well with the actress it seems.
"If anyone really cared about finding facts from BCCI...would know...I've always and always followed protocol but yet, I kept quiet," she added. Anushka also recalled incidents when she got the blame for Kohli’s and Indian cricket team's poor performances on the field.
Ex-India wicketkeeper-batsman Farokh Engineer has apologized to Anushka Sharma over his remark that selectors served her tea during World Cup. "I just said it in jest and it's being made a mountain out of a molehill," he said. "Many people tried to say things against her...but I'm very much for her. I'd never ever dream of demeaning her," he added.
