Anushka Shetty And Raghava Lawrence To Star In Director P Vasu's Chandramukhi 2?

Several months ago, director P Vasu announced that he will be directing the sequel to his super hit film, Chandramukhi. The film, tentatively titled Chandramukhi 2, will have Raghava Lawrence playing the lead role. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the shooting of Chandramukhi 2 was delayed. The makers had a difficult time assembling a team. Sun Pictures is on board as the producer and they have plans of bankrolling the film on a grand scale. Now, reports suggest that Anushka Shetty is currently in talks to play the female lead in the film. However, it is unclear whether Anushka has signed on the dotted lines or not.

Anushka Shetty was last seen in director Hemant Madhurkar's Nishabdham, which was released directly on Amazon Prime Video. However, the film turned out to be a damp squib. After Nishabdham, the actress hasn't signed a film yet. Since Chandramukhi had a strong female character played by Jyotika, Chandramukhi 2 will also have a similar role. The makers thought Anushka Shetty would be an apt choice to play the role in the film. Comedy actor Vadivelu confirmed that he will be part of Chandramukhi 2 at a recent press conference in Chennai.
