The Hanu Raghavapudi-directed 'Sita Ramam' starred Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur in the lead roles. The film follows the love story of a soldier (Dulquer Salmaan) and his lady love (Mrunal Thakur). Rashmika Mandanna plays the pivotal role of Afreen. The story takes place between the 1960s and the 1980s.
On August 5, the film was released in theatres. Since then, it has received positive feedback from both audiences and critics. The film, produced by Vyjayanthi Movies and Swapna Cinema, has so far grossed Rs 5.0 crore worldwide, according to its producers. The technical team includes cinematographers P. S. Vinod and Shreyas Krishna, art director Faisal Ali Khan, editor Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao, and costume designer Sheetal Sharma.
