AR Murugadoss opens up about his old film Mirattal with Ajith

As AR Murugadoss is busy promoting his big-budget flick Darbar, the director is on an interview-giving spree. Darbar starring Superstar Rajinikanth will release worldwide on January 9, one week before Pongal. The film features Nayanthara, Suneil Shetty, Prateik Babbar, and Nivetha Thomas.

Years ago, Murugadoss was supposed to do a film with Ajith titled Mittal. The film's poster even made it to the Internet. However, the film was eventually dropped. In a recent interview to The Hindu, he opened up about Mirattal and his equation with Thala Ajith.
Recalling the film, he said, "Mirattal had to be dropped because there were problems between the producer and Ajith sir after we started the project. It was Ajith sir who, when he heard the script for Mirattal, had suggested that he would gain six-pack abs for the film. He told me instantly after listening to the storyline. It was not in the script but only after he told me that did I start to think, ‘ Oh, if a hero sports a six-pack, it would look nice."
He further added, "Though we did not end up doing Mirattal eventually, his idea gave me the opportunity to ask stars like Suriya and Aamir Khan to gain six-pack abs for their roles."
