Arya's Sarpatta To Get A Direct OTT Release?

Arya was last seen in director Shakti Soundar Rajan's Teddy, which released directly on Disney+Hotstar and received decent reviews from the critics and audience. One of the most exciting and anticipated films in Arya's career right now is Sarpatta with director Pa Ranjit. Everything since the film's announcement to the first-look posters and promos has piqued the interest of the audience. director Pa Ranjith wrapped up the shooting of Sarpatta last year and has been waiting to release the film in theatres. However, due to the second wave of the novel coronavirus pandemic, it is not possible.

Even though theatres might reopen in a few weeks, there are high chances for a third wave and hence the situation is quite uncertain. Reportedly, director Ranjith and the producers of Sarpatta have decided to skip theatrical releases and go the OTT way. If reports are to be believed, the makers of Sarpatta are in talks with Zee5 and other OTT platforms to sell the streaming rights. An official confirmation regarding Sarpatta's OTT release will be made soon. Sarpatta is a period boxing film with Arya playing the role of a boxer hailing from North Madras. The film also has Kalaiyarasan, Kaali Venkat, and others in important roles.
