Young hero Naga Shourya is best known for playing lover boy roles in films like Oohalu Gusagusalade, Kalyana Vaibhogame, and Chalo. He was last seen in the film Oh Baby. Now, the actor wants to shed off his guy next door image and is coming up with an intense action-thriller called Ashwathama. Shaurya himself penned the story of this movie. Debutant Ramana Teja has directed it.

The teaser of Ashwathama was launched on social media by Samantha the other day. The team has also arranged a teaser launch event in Hyderabad. Speaking at the event, Ramana Teja thanked Shaurya for giving him this opportunity and said that the audience will see the actor in a completely new avatar.
Producer Usha Mulpuri said that the posters and songs which were released earlier got a good response from the audience. She added that the film will hit the screens on January 31st, 2020.
Naga Shaurya said that he got the idea of this film from some of the real-life incidents happened to women in places like Mumbai and Delhi. He said that he has a flair of telling stories and writing scripts. The actor also pointed out that he wrote the script for Chalo. Ashwathama is a story that talks about women's safety. Shaurya added that the film gave him a chance to play an out-and-out rugged character. Mehreen played the female lead role in Ashwathama.
