We are already aware that popular Malayalam actor Shane Nigam got banned by the Producers Association of Kerala as the actor had a dispute with one of his films' producers. The issue has been prolonging for the past few years and finally got resolved with the intervention of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA), headed by Mohanlal. Both AMMA and producers council members came on agreement on Wednesday which resulted in the lift of the ban on Shane.
Shane will now complete two of his ongoing projects- Veyil and Qurbani, which got stalled due to this issue. He will not act in any other films until the completion of these two flicks. However, Shane is free to commit to any other projects.
Shane will also pay compensation to the producers of both his stalled films. He will pay an amount of Rs. 16 lakhs each to both the producers. The producers have initially demanded a crore as compensation but got down after the intervention of AMMA. The producers will also have one more meeting with AMMA to discuss the various problems created on the sets.
Shane ran into controversy in October last year when he made a social media post alleging a death threat from the producer of Veyil. Later, he shaved his hair, breaking the continuity of the film. Since then, he got banned from doing films.
Since Shane Nigam is getting back to work again, let us hope that he continues doing films without any break.
