In 2019, director Vetri Maaran's Asuran was of the best films, thanks to its arresting storyline. The revenge drama with a social message stars Dhanush, Manju Warrier, Teejay, Ken Karunas, and Pasupathy in important roles. The film managed to earn over Rs 100 crore. Several top production houses have been trying their lunch in fetching the remake rights of the film. Asuran was adapted from the popular Tamil novel titled Vekkai. Director Vetri Maran said that he has made changes to the film's script to suit the Tamil audience's sensibilities. Now, there is another international honour for the film.
