The film industry has been given new life because of the phenomenal success of Drishyam 2. The Ajay Devgn starrer's success and the fact that it's on track to gross over Rs. 50 crore in three days has raised spirits after back-to-back failures. Therefore, it was not surprising that the movie was mentioned several times during the Govinda Naam Mera trailer launch on Sunday, November 20, which was hosted at a five-star hotel in Mumbai.
The popularity of her recent theatrical movies, like Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and JugJugg Jeeyo, have helped Kiara Advani have a terrific run recently. Shershaah and Laxmii, two of her digital movies, attracted a lot of views.
Kiara Advani was questioned about being the "golden girl" of Bollywood at the occasion. Kiara responded positively, stating that the tag no longer belonged to her. She went on to say that Tabu, her co-star in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and a significant actor in Drishyam 2, deserves this designation. Kiara Advani stated with a smile, "Right now, (the golden girl of the industry) is Tabu ma'am after the success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Drishyam 2. She has taken over!"
That's not all, either. Producer Karan Johar used the film Drishyam 2 as an example to demonstrate that theatres had returned after the pandemic.
Meanwhile, Gaurav Banerjee, Head of Content for Disney+ Hotstar and HSM Entertainment, emphasized that despite the industry's challenges, good times have finally come. He declared, "It is exciting to watch a Black Panther: Wakanda Forever to Brahmastra to indeed Ajay Devgn's film Drishyam 2 this weekend (perform exceptionally well at the cinemas). There's so much of excitement happening and hopefully, with Govinda Naam Mera, we can add to the joy."
Bhumi Pednekar and Vicky Kaushal are also featured in Govinda Naam Mera. On December 16, 2022, a direct release will take place on Disney+ Hotstar.
