Rural love stories mostly do well in the Telugu film industry. There is a purity in the village love dramas, which is usually not present in the urban age love stories. In the recent past, we have seen only a few rural love dramas doing well at the box office. One such film is Uyyala Jampala, directed by Virinchi Varma. This cute little love story marked the debut of Raj Tarun and Avika Gor in the Telugu film industry. Nagarjuna Akkineni has bankrolled this 2013 film under the banner Annapurna Studios. If the latest grapevine is anything to go by, plans are going on to make a sequel to this film. This time, Nagarjuna's son Naga Chaitanya will be the producer of it.
According to the sources, the script works of Uyyala Jampala are currently going on. If everything falls in place, it will go on floors very soon. The makers are planning to signup both Raj Tarun and Avika Gor once again for this sequel. We are yet to know whether it will be a continuation of the first part or will have an entirely different story.
If this film goes on floors, it will reunite both Raj Tarun and Avika after a gap of more than five years. The pair was last seen together in the 2015 film Cinema Choopista Mava, directed by Trinadha Rao Nakkina. Uyyala Jampala 2 may also become the maiden production of Naga Chaitanya. More details on this film will be out once the ongoing lockdown gets over.
