Roadies has always been a show full of controversies. Now
Neha Dhupia has got herself tangled into one after she called adultery a personal choice during a recent episode of Roadies. While interacting with a contestant Dhupia reprimanded the guy for slapping his girlfriend. In his defense, the man claimed that he did so as she was cheating on him with five other guys.
Soon after these fans of the show and many others started taking aside. While some agreed with Dhupia's comments others thought her concept of feminism doesn't make sense. Now
Ayushmann Khurrana and
Malaika Arora have also come to support Neha Dhupia amid the controversy.
In her defense, Neha Dhupia uploaded a statement on her Twitter handle. She wrote, "What I do stand for is women's safety. Sadly, as a reaction to my opinion, I have been subjected to weeks of vitriol. One of my posts had over 56k comments! Yet I was silent but now people close to me who have nothing to do with this - my family, my friends, my co-workers, and even my dad's personal WhatsApp are being flooded with abuses and harassment. My daughter's page is nothing less than a barrage of abuses and this is not acceptable to me."
Ayushmann Khurrana among others agreed with Neha Dhupia's opinion over physical abuse. Since then many other actors have also stood in to support Neha Dhupia during the ordeal.
Khurrana said that he absolutely condemns physical violence no matter the circumstance. The actor was once a part of Roadies in its second season. Ayushmann Khurrana credits his name to fame to winning the title of Roadies back in 2004.
